Free sample of the My Book Boost list now available!

January 23, 2013 by mybookboost

I’m happy to announce a free sample of the product I’ve been working on for over two years!

It’s a list of library books for beginning readers. This free sample contains three books from the list of 150 quality books.

The easiest way to get these books is to place them on hold. You can do this online and they will be waiting for you on the hold shelf at the library. If you prefer, you can also go to the library and pull the books yourself. Keep in mind that each library might not have every book, so you may have to go online and put some books on hold.

Once you have the books, you can sit down to read with your child. The books on this list are great for your child to read, with your support.   After they’ve read the book at least once, they can reread the book over and over with or without you sitting by their side.

Levels 1-3 are approximately Kindergarten level and levels 4-15 are approximately 1st grade level.

Level 1

Hug by Jez Alborough

25 Mammals Every Child Should Know by Jim Arnosky

Picture This… by Alison Jay

Level 7

Whose Hat Is It? by Valeri Gorbachev

I Like Stars by Margaret Wise Brown

Time to Sleep Sheep the Sheep by Mo Willems

You can also download the free sample here

I’m just learning about the world of blogs and I’m enjoying checking out a ton of different teacher’s and homeschooler’s blogs! My goal is to make mine more interactive. I’m looking forward to working on it in the coming year!

Welcome to my blog!

January 23, 2013 by mybookboost

Back in the summer of 2010, I started leveling books that I was using with the 1st grader I was tutoring. I was hoping it’d make for easier planning for the next kids I tutored.

Then, I got the idea that others may want to use the list. So I worked on it gradually. I’m thrilled that the list is available and hopefully parents (or any family member), teachers, and tutors will find it useful!
