Taking a Bath with a Cast

August 7, 2014 by mybookboost

Bathe with a Cast

Do you know someone with a cast on their arm? My 4-year old daughter had a swing mishap earlier this summer and broke her arm. That’s her pink cast you see covered with bags in the picture.

Here’s how we gave her a bath while she had the cast on:

1. We tied two grocery bags around the cast.
2. We put a plastic tub in the water, which she could put her arm in. The tub acted as a sort of boat that floated and helped keep water away from the cast.
3. We kept bath time fairly short.

This method helped us because she could still get clean, yet the cast stayed dry. After five weeks, the cast was off. Whew!
